I am especially grateful to my parents for realizing the value of a Christian education. I have been a member of Zion since they moved to Matteson when I was a year old, graduating from 8th grade in 1969. Over the years I have served on the Board of Social Ministry, as Secretary to the Board of Elders, and as Sunday School and VBS teacher. I was especially privileged to write Zion's school and church history in 1988, 1993, and most recently in 2003. Currently, I am a member of the Board of Stewardship.

I graduated from Governors State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English teacher education with an endorsement in middle school instruction. Following graduation, I taught 6th and 8th grade Reading at Parker Junior High in Flossmoor. The following year I served as 7th grade Communication Arts teacher at Troy Middle School in Plainfield.

When I first came to Zion, I served as a substitute teacher during the 2006-07 school year. The following year I taught 4th grade, and this coming school year will by my third year of teaching grades 7 and 8.

In addition to teaching, my other duties include coordinating Zion's participation in the South Suburban Lutheran Schools Spelling Bee as well as planning staff social events and recognizing staff birthday celebrations.

My daughter Jennifer and her family are members here. My grandson Sean graduated from Zion in 2009 and my granddaughter Virginia begins school this year as a fourth grader.

I live in Park Forest with my husband, Rick. My outside interests include reading, writing plays and original lesson plans, and spending time with my grandchildren.
