Mrs. Nadine Engel
Pre-School/Kindergarten/Teaching Minister/Music Coordinator
I am a graduate of Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. I was called to teach First and Second grade and music at Immanuel Lutheran, Richton Park, Illinois in 1977. I taught 2 and 1/2 years at Immanuel and continued as church organist there for 20 years. I married my husband, Richard, in 1978. I took 16 years off to raise our four children. I started as a volunteer accompanist at Zion School while our children were growing up and began to play church organ at Zion in 1990. In 1996, I taught sixth grade as a full year substitute and Kindergarten on contract in 1997 until 2000 when Zion extended a call to me.
Since 2000, I have been Music Coordinator, organist and Kindergarten teacher at Zion. For the past four years I have been Pre School & Kindergarten teacher. I am now full time organist at Zion and director of the school children's choirs.
Three of our four children are graduates of Zion Lutheran School. My husband Richard has a BS in engineering and an MBA Degree. He has been involved at Zion since we became members in 1988. We are committed to Christian Education and try to make a difference in the lives of God's children in this place.
This will be my fifteenth year as Kindergarten teacher at Zion. Working with children, sharing my faith, and teaching them about God, Salvation through Jesus, and the work of the Holy Spirit, is a joy. I love working with all of God's people at Zion and treasure this family of believers.
