Enrollment Procedure
- Step 1
- Return a completed application to the school office along with the $40 non-refundable application fee.
- Submit a certified birth certificate.
- Submit previous report cards.
- Submit achievement test scores.
- The Illinois State Board of Education requires all children entering preschool must reach the age of 4 years on or before September 1st, Kindergarten children must reach the age of 5 years and first grade children the age of 6 years on or before September 1st.
- If applicable, a custody agreement must accompany the application before consideration of enrollment.
- Step 2
- The teacher and principal will review the application and make a recommendation to the school board.
- The school board will vote, they meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
- Step 3
- The school will notify all new applicants as to their acceptance, rejection, or assignment to a waiting list.
- Acceptance of an application requires a deposit within ten days of the notification date of acceptance. This deposit is non-refundable.
- Zion Member Family Deposit: Registration fee for new term
- Community Family Deposit: 1st month's tuition plus registration fee
Zion Lutheran School gives first consideration to the children of the members of Zion Lutheran Congregation. Zion Lutheran School admits children of either sex and any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all of the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, athletic and other school administered programs.
Applications are accepted on February 1st for the following school year. They may also be accepted at the Open House the last Sunday in January. Applications for the next school year are considered at the March School Board meeting and every following monthly meeting.
