I attended Concordia Teachers College from 1966-1970 graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a concentration in United States History. This is the beginning of my 26th year of teaching. Twenty-two years have been here at Zion Lutheran Church and School. Two years were spent at St. Paul Lutheran School, Latimer, Iowa and one year at Grace Lutheran School, Teaneck, New Jersey.

Here at Zion I currently teach the fifth and sixths grades, coordinate Chapel Projects and Hymns of the Month, oversee the yearbook publication, and organize Zion's participation in the annual National Geographic Bee. I am a member of the Lutheran Education Association and a former member of the South Suburban Reading Council.

I reside in Oak Forest with my husband, Carl, who is Minister of Music and Fourth Grade Teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Tinley Park, Illinois. I maintain my church membership there serving in the Senior Choir and assisting with the choir library. I have two grown sons. Peter, our oldest, is on the staff at Kent State University in Ohio as music cataloguer/librarian, and Philip is a computer consultant with a Chicago firm. My relaxation activities include traveling in and out of the country, gardening, reading, and cooking.
